Welcome,

My name is Melissa, and I am a Registered Counselling Therapist and a Certified Canadian Counsellor. I hold a masters in Counselling Psychology, and am currently taking course work to earn my Doctored.

My goal is to work collaboratively to help you discover your full potential. I use an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I pull from a variety of theoretical approaches so as to meet your needs in the best possible way. It is my commitment to you, to provide a safe and judgement free zone where you can explore your struggles and redefine your path. I am passionate about incorporating nature into therapy and will gladly take you outdoors to reap the full benefits of nature. I have experience working with young children through to adults on a variety of complex and comorbid conditions. Be it anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, problematic eating or anything in between, I work with you at your pace.

Life is messy, but together we can find ways to dance in the rain.

I’m the Irish lady who looks forward to working with you.

When working with a client I do this from the perspective of the client being the expert, I am there to support you in your journey. I work collaboratively with the goal of building the therapeutic relationship to help you figure out what supports you need. To help you learn the skills needed to over come barriers to help you live the best live you can. I’m not here to judge you, tell you what to do. I’m here to listen, validate, support and work with you in a manner that is compassionate. Working at your pace.

With over 20 years work experience within the field of social work I bring a flexible approach to my work. I draw upon numerous theoretical and evidence approaches to best match the clients needs with service provision.

I have formal qualifications and work experience in Cbt, TF-CBT, trauma, anxiety, depression, family work, and LGBTQ+. Working with adults, youth and children as well as those who identify as neurodivergent is in my wheelhouse. Having my own children and having worked both in the health care and the education system enables me to bring additional knowledge, skills and values to support you.
